starless nights falling

wake in the remembering

it was always there

 

 

swim.

she believed in a lot of things.

like dreaming and loving 

and seizing those moments that could never

guarantee another day.

but she believed too, in pain.

in starless nights

and falling

and saltwater lungs. because

somehow it was always there in the drowning,

that she remembered she could swim.

love is everything

offering small cups of light

the broken world waits

dawn will come the way i picture her,

when joy enters you

a thousand clouds cannot stop

the sun in your heart

how i love our haiku fridays.

when we write small words across each others hearts

and lift each other toward the light.

this morning i sat outside

while the birds sang in this new day.

have i told you how i depend on 

this baptism of fresh starts

to cleanse my heart 

and begin anew?

 

and how i cherish each of you

and the light you bring

to each new day.
