haiku my heart

 

 

a simple sunset

a chance to pause and give thanks

prayer as old as time

 

 

so simple,

to pause and breathe deeply,

to meet each unfolding moment

with a grateful heart.

thank you for gracing each friday 

with your beauty,

your ability to distill life down to the most thoughtful essence.

haiku truly are 

mindful expressive jewels,

thank you for sweetening mine!

 

two weeks ago i watched the glorious sunset

never knowing i would go to sleep that night 

and not leave my bed for twelve 

long fitful days.

i'm grateful to sit here

weak and feeble;

and warm my heart in our 

haiku circle.
