baptism of rain
like a gift autumn arrives
farewell hot summer
hummingbirds
have slipped in and out coral throats
all summer.
i've watched from sun soaked windows as they hover ever close
mixing pollen like alchemist lovers.
but the skies are quiet now,
just me...
and the company of rain.
the visitation of hummingbirds,
the baptism of rain.
XO

I wish I could say that we won't see any more heat, but, sadly, that's not the case. Another heat wave is upon us, and I find myself longing for a baptism of autumn rain. Enjoy yours!
