here the darkening trees
bereft of shimmering leaves
don a million stars
***
days shortening.
night, a long winded bedfellow with icy feet.
autumn begs for reflection, slowing down.
time beside the warming fire.
life is a song of letting go.
when finally complete,
we too are poised
for stars.
***
please forgive me for not visiting you all last week,
and possibly this week too.
i manage to arrive here before dawn
and begin our haiku circle
and then quickly return to the task at hand,
navigating tragedy.
life has a way of reminding us that everything
can change in a heartbeat.
and when our world seems shattered
by the enormity of our fragility
it's our turn to remind those around us
to cease the day and life
life to the fullest.
place another log on the haiku fire-
there's warmth in this
and hope.
long may love shine
XO

There is nothing to forgive, Rebecca. I think we all know you have a pot that is overflowing and must be tended and stirred constantly. I am just grateful the door to your haiku room is open and it's always warm and dry inside. The love in your heart envelopes us all and tides us over until your return..and beyond. xo

Dear friend, take the time you need and we'll wait for your return whenever you are ready. Just know we all love you and think of you, we will keep the fire burning. I send you all my love and a big hug from Holland.

We are here, stoking this fire that you have laid for us with tender care. How grateful am I to come and be with you and our circle. We hold this space for each other as we each tend what we must, and especially for you sweet friend. Take all the time you need. Rest as much as possible in the love we send to you now and always. I love you dearly. XO

All is well, even when we think it is not. Life is both mysterious and miraculous, and in some mysterious, miraculous way all is well.
