tiny fragile cups
rays of light that reach the heart
dizzy pink with bees
here in the southwest
forsythia stretches her yellow arms
around the sleepy hillsides.
daffodils nod in the breeze as iris cast purple
into the flowering mix of
springs first curtsy.
you lie in wait for their arrival
and it is a shared sigh of relief
when they appear.
but when the manzanita blooms;
it's like stumbling on a prayer.
such tiny blossoms could easily be missed-
but there are thousands of them
and together
filled with the drone of bees
something so fragile,
so fragrant, so filled with light
becomes a miracle.

What an adorable picture you painted with your words, Rebecca. Purple, prayer - some of my favorite words.
Love to you,
Hazel

I love to think that our bees are sending messages to each other, Rebecca! Well at least through our haiku! So much beauty. I take it all into my heart, seeds of hope and love. Thank you my sweet friend for having us here.
