both in its absence
and in its sweet returning
the kiss of sunrise
the sun
have you ever seen
anything
in your life
more wonderful
than the way the sun,
very evening,
relaxed and easy
floats toward the horizon
and into the clouds or the hills,
or the rumpled sea
and is gone-
and how it slides again
out of the blackness,
every morning,
on the other side of the world,
like a red flower......

The sun shows how everything changes and yet stays the same, which to me always is a sign of hope... isn't nature, isn't life marvelous?!

Greeting the sunrise is one of my greatest joys. I wish I didn't live in suburbia. All these houses make it hard to see the sun!
