conversing with stars
pines lift the edge of heaven
prayers slip through like clouds
suddenly the last petals
on bowing heads of sunflowers slip away.
the ponds are glass bowls
tipping their bright faces at sun or moon-
a steady conversation with old friends.
morning glories
open their great disks of heavenly blue
as tiny hummingbirds
ignite
the very air in shimmering light.
i sit at the sunbright table collecting each of your voices
like so many wild flowers
in a vase of haiku.

Dear Rebecca and my Haiku Circle, thank you for these gifts. We both have hummingbirds in our writing today, Rebecca!
I am going to be taking a break after today from posting. I hope to be back soon. Things are really, really bad here and I have to figure out how to regain my health. I love you all and the ripples we send to the world.
