in dark arms of trees
sky burns her brightest candles
prayers slip through like clouds
i look up to the gathering light
which falls so evenly on us all.
there is no holding back,
no judgement,
or hesitation.
light simply enters us.
lifts our eyes forever upward
above the fray
of our shared brokenness.
reaches down into our darkest hours,
lights more candles, hangs more glory.
every new day since the beginning of time
repeats her flood of light and hope-
"wake up, wake up
wake up to love."
small words
swimming in the light

When I come into this room, and the rooms of others who have visited, I wake up then to love, each and every time.

I like the image of our prayers being guided by the light from the darkest corners.
Have a great weekend.
