in dark arms of trees
sky burns her brightest candles
prayers slip through like clouds
i look up to the gathering light
which falls so evenly on
us all.
there is no holding back,
no judgement,
or hesitation.
light simply enters us.
lifts our eyes forever upward
above the fray
of our shared brokenness.
reaches down into our darkest hours,
lights more candles, hangs more glory.
every new day since the beginning of time
repeats her flood of light and hope;
"wake up, wake up
wake up to love."
a flood of light in the smallest world
of words

Sometimes it seems that burning a candle is a feeble, meaningless gesture, but it's amazing how much darkness a little light can dispel.

I bought an 'outside candle' yesterday to bring a little light on my balcony - I guess you felt that? Have a delighted weekend dear!

It's good to be here with others who also enjoy the "light in the smallest world of words."
