for some she appears across blue lakes,
scorched on a burnt tortilla,
a water stain beneath some distant bridge,
in a soft white cloud floating on a pure vault sky,
inside the open heart of a ripe papaya,
within the blue green
sheath of humble agave.
for others
she is the wisdom and mother love we look for
in the eyes of every woman we know;
in the heart of everyone
we meet.
"I like to think of Mary
as a cross-cultural icon of femininity and I've come to see her
in the face of every woman I meet.."

Every woman's face...the face of Mary. Thanks, Fran and Rebecca.

Remember the year we did "Finding Mary"? I started seeing her everywhere.

My favorite words yet! I like to think of Mary as "user friendly"
