how faint your footsteps
the chill of winter
one thousand prayers
the hush
an all day snow brings
to the solitude of loneliness
the way it falls
free wheeling
christening the sky
to rest open palmed
in soft curves of purity
above the weight of life
until there is nothing left to do
but bow and pray and wake
to the curve of light
across an impossibly blue sky
a special thank you to a dear friend
for beginning our haiku year
like roses in the snow

I was happy to host our small gathering last week, although I'm glad you have your computer up and running again, Rebecca. I look forward to returning with my haiku offering on Friday morning. Illness is forcing an early bedtime on me. Blessings to all who visit this sacred space on the first Friday of the year!

Footsteps... like newly fallen snow, or the burst of blue sky that emerges from the storm clouds... I find my way here with such happiness in my heart to start the day with these offerings. So glad you are back, so glad that MMT could hold space for us when you couldn't be here, so glad for this circle that always spirals out into the world... a beautiful new year to you my dear Rebecca. XOXOXO

Ich freue mich, dass ich auch einen Beitrag verlinken kann.
Ich habe auch eine Serie namens "Meine Haiku-Liebe"
in meinem blog. Aber ohne zu verlinken.
Daher freue ich mich hier mit zu machen.
Für das neue Jahr wünsche ich Freude, Frieden und Gesundheit.
Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland

Your reflections are perfect for what the weather was here yesterday. The snow isn't going anyplace soon since it is not supposed to get out of the teens today. Brrrrrr

Such poetry, Rebecca, flows from your golden pen, even about snow. xo
