as close as breathing
spring comes yellow as butter
sweetening in the light
introductions
Some of what we love
we stumble upon —
a purse of gold thrown on the road,
a poem, a friend, a great song.
And more
discloses itself to us —
a well among green hazels,
a nut thicket —
when we are worn out searching
for something quite different.
comes to us, carried
as carefully
as a bright cup of water,
as new bread.
moya cannon
thank you dear friends for being
a purse of gold, a well among green hazels,
a bright cup of water,
a gentle haiku,
the introduction to spring.

Unfortunately for some of our friends in faraway places, spring is still a distant dream, buried under several feet of snow!

As many are, I am aching for the first signs of spring! It's great to gather with you all for a haiku feast every Friday!

I love the illusion of butter...so warm and soft. Yes, the hope of Spring. Thank you!

Love to celebrate all of the seasons. Must say Spring will be especially wonderful this year. My daughter was snowed in on the east coast this week. Finally got home yesterday.
