tiny holy buds
dreaming just below the ice
longing for the sun
***
here we are, on the shoulder of another frigid weekend;
paring down our winter hearts hungry for spring.
morning ponds just outside the window
cast a frozen still life.
until the sun and one hundred waterbirds
rake this frozen slate of morning
into a shimmering
faceted dance of perfect light.
everything changes....
sometimes you turn around and hardly
recognize yourself in the passing mirror.
all the more reason to move in kindness.
choose with compassion.
be a part of something
larger than
waiting.

please visit each other and leave a few warm words.
it's been a long winter and people everywhere
are hungry for light.

It seems that many people, especially in the frigid Northeast, are joining the buds in longing for some sun! Blessed haiku to you, and to all, today!

This is an awesome haiku, Rebecca. You have put yourself inside these tiny berries and brought them to life, giving them feeling and thoughts. Love this! Wow!

Beautifully inspiring as always dear Rebecca… it is snowing here again this morning… I'm thinking it might be fun to go for a walk, as it is light snow.

We both focused on buds... we are still in a severe drought, praying for rain... in the breaths between my prayers... I open to the beauty around me. Sometimes, these buds are my mirrors... love you Rebecca and this precious circle. I'm off to an all art's day at a local school. I will be by to see everyone as soon as I can. XO

An inspiring thought. "choose with compassion" is something that came as a reminder. Lovely picture.:)
