perhaps the same bird
sang holy through the long night
quenching all our hearts
I never will have time enough
To say
How beautiful it is
The way the moon
Floats in the air
As easily
And lightly as a bird
Although she is a world
Made all of stone.
I never will have time enough
To praise
The way the stars
Hang glittering in the dark
Of steepest heaven
Their dewy sparks
Their brimming drops of light
So fresh so clear
That when you look at them
It quenches thirst.
anne porter
good morning haiku my heart
may you find time enough to visit each
offering
as if it were a star hanging in the plum sky
just to sweeten your moment,
as surely
you
brighten mine.

Such comfort your words bring...and, indeed, I never seem to have enough time. There is consolation in knowing I am not alone. Merry Christmas, Rebecca!!

I did not recognize the bird as being a dove...such a lovely golden light brings out its true beauty. and such an enchanting haiku to top it off.
Thank you for your concern- I've had pain in my left arm for months. a CT was not helpful in figuring out why it continues to hurt. I have fibromyalgia, but pain usually affects my neck, shoulders and sometimes my hips. I discovered if I spend little time on the computer, the pain eases. So will you please pray for either my arm pain to leave or for me to- as the Sisters would say- for me to have the attitude to offer my pain up.
God bless you, dear one.

I love the use of the word quench here, Rebecca. His love truly can quench the fire and passions that live in men's hearts.
