the thrill of autumn
blown leaves caught in nights dreaming
memories for breakfast
autumn dresses up
in nothing short of brazen,
careening leaves take their leap of faith.
every year
i fall hard for golden light;
scarlet, bronze, yellow, orange praying.
hoping for the wild grace of leaves cascading
when letting go arrives to finally
welcome me.
where welcoming lovers of small words
home each friday
is my brightest delight.

Oh Rebecca dear, may it be so for all of us when we are released from physical form. Beautiful words, magnificent image. If you want to share you photo with I Heart Macro, I would be honored and I can completely understand if that is not your desire or where your energy or time lead you.

I'm not sure how long I'd survive with only memories for breakfast! It's good to be here this morning, and I hope that many others find their way here, leaving their little offerings of love.

I too was dreaming of autumn leaves when I crafted my haiku, mourning those washed away by October's rain.

Yes, Autumn is certainly brazen as you say. It takes the life of all things Spring and all things Summer, and makes them its own possession. But it is a beautiful theater it presents. Please keep that golden light within you, and savor it again when Spring arrives, and Summer, for there is a golden hue even there. xo

I so agree this way of release every year the leaves come and then one dat they release one by one and then one day the rest fall in flow like snow ... Faithful release .... Yes, that is what u heard today ...
