in dark arms of trees
sky burns her brightest candles
hangs prayer flags and cries
in the midst of tragedy and unrest
i look up to the gathering light
which falls so evenly on
us all.
there is no holding back,
no judgement,
or hesitation.
light simply enters us.
lifts our eyes forever upward
above the fray
of our wretched brokenness.
reaches down into our darkest hours,
lights more candles, hangs more glory.
every new day since the beginning of time
repeats her flood of light and hope;
"wake up, wake up
wake up to love."
may everything we do
be an altar of love.

Oh how beautiful. I feel both the sorrow and the hope your words convey, Rebecca. I posted a haiku today but can't seem to copy the link via my iPad. Thinking of my haiku friends across the miles!

It is late on Friday, but I am here. Here to light that candle with you and our circle... of love, of hope, of taking the time... to be all that we can be in how ever many breaths we have...

as I watched more heartbreaking news today, I wonder...is our Mother Mary and her Son crying at all we keep doing to one another?

May it be so, may it be so, may we all pay attention to the light of love infusing us, everyone.
