i've been listening to stars and the secrets of
stone.
their ancient wisdom;
and this great burden we all arrive carrying
to the light of each dawn.
remembering life
when every direction seemed plausible,
un-hurdled, effortless with the easy joy of the untested.
the way we fly in our dreams,
or how we are reborn in them
whole and perfect
while our sleeping bodies lie still and broken beneath
the lightness of this.
what if navigating the wild terrain of living is about
forging a vantage point
from the very weight of our challenges?
what if our work
is the sculptures seasoned practice
of striking free the superfluous,
removing what was,
to see more clearly what is?
pairing down so close to bare bones, light emerges
translucent in every detail of our being.
what if, in this hard work of letting go,
we find our soul's vantage point,
a strong hold of wisdom,
sure footed trust.
what if by stacking each heavy stone of strife
our challenges become a pinnacle
of strength holding us up into the light.
and from this great sheering up of heart and soul,
we are struck like a bell that has
waited a lifetime to ring out.
and in this pure ringing..
love
trust
clarity
courage
belonging
acceptance
willingness
fills the air with every breath we take.
allowing the colour of rain, responsibility of gravity, our perfect belonging,
the ability of each baptism by fire, all life's challenges;
to converge in
a perfect clarity of love.
postcards from paradise
sometimes we are nothing more than
cupped hands at dawn
hoping to catch the light.
where my friends does the light enter you?
