against all odds
who can even say when,
a small puff of a seed on gossamer wings
managed to land in the smallest sliver of soil
between ancient stones in the courtyard of
casa carmen, and thrive.
there, in the courtyard blooming and seeding,
pods like burst ropes of stars giving their dreams to
the open hand of life;
the air dizzy with hope and possibility.
mexican butterfly weed; blood flower
life propagating life
all the while we too ripened, burst open, bloomed, reseeded,
somehow, against all odds;
each one of us landing in the fertile soil of each other;
each of us
finding our wings, willing to fly.
dear pilgrims,
the gift of each of you continues to ripen within me.
i am savoring the alchemy of our days together;
allowing them to unfold, burst open, re-flower, take root
again and again.
don't you love the way we
came to paint....
and became butterflies?

Good morning Sweet Lady!! I am uplifted as always by your words and a photo of one of my favorite garden flowers.... asleep in my yard in this season of letting go. I am sharing my last burst of autumn color before the world around me enters the cocoon of winter!

I do, I love our 'ripening together', our year upon year of seeding and renewing and one of the greatest delights upon the way is 'the way' you 'tell it', 'paint it'....
I have been away this weekend to see my little 'fox cub', she is saying words now and painting!
Hugs dear one...x

{{ just had to share ::
there are 2 monarchs caterpillars
feasting
feasting
on my milkweed
today
i do wonder
if they will Turn
&
overwinter nearby
my heart leaps to see them
but
i fret
at their lateness
Mother Nature
is sometimes confused
&
i fear it is Man's fault
never the less,
i remain ever hopeful }}
