last year i stood in the happiest courtyard
of a church in san miguel de allende
surrounded with families, their beloved pets in arms,
for the traditional Blessing of the Animals;
the closest sunday to the feast day of San Antonio.
there is something holy about coming together to honor love.
today may you stand in the light of knowing
your deepest essence of pure love,
both within you and firmly in the hearts of others.
now tell friends,
where has paradise taken you?

oh Mexico...the people whose faces shine with love and kindness

this is so amazing. I love this part of Mexico's culture. Pooch on the last photo wasn't very happy with it though. Maybe his name is Damien? ;-)

It warms my heart to see these pictures of the universal love we humans share for our pets and the pleasure we give and receive from each other. Life would be very empty with our sweet dogs surrounding us.

and yes the circle grows - i too had sent O'Donohue's poem on to the husband and her girls of my friend who passed away, and to my daughter.. i wonder where these ripples will travel. That tortoise in your post reminds me or days gone by..
