refuge of comfort
in your light i find a home
fragrance of roses
fragrance of roses
love in every syllable
shelter in the storm
lovers of small words gather on fridays to share
haiku.
some of us have been sharing this weekly tradition for years
and we are always happy to welcome more.
there are no rules or prompts,
just a deep desire to bear our souls in seventeen syllables.
some fridays in december
coincides with the first twelve days of december set aside to honor
simply, motherlove, today is that day.
in years past i have offered separate links;
one for those who haiku and one for those honoring mary.
weary of separateness,
and pleasantly surprised to find haiku weaving in and out of this entire week,
i am inviting everyone to share together,
so come all you lovers of small words, and gatherers of light,
come haiku all hearts!

What a nourishing, nurturing place to gather on a Friday! Thank you!

You read my thoughts as I intertwined the Friday Haiku My Heart with A Virgin a Day and made one. Such a wonderful way to start any day is here at your page with your words, from your heart, to ours.
Peace

No post of Mary...but, just started a new book by Ann Patchet, Run that made me smile with the very first sentence of the statue of Mary that plays the major role in this novel.

Your site is a home and a refuge -- both for visions of Mary and its gentle haiku.

I just discovered what's taken me so long to post... oh Rebecca... once again, I let your prompts take me to places... I haven't wanted to touch, that need a soft light shined upon them. I love you so. XO

So, we are two communities today--that have united. Thanks for hosting all of us. Mary and roses; in my mind I am kneeling before her and smelling the fragrance.

Rebecca dear, Pardon me posting so late in the day. I wish I had a Haiku of Mary to share, but instead I wanted to offer all of your lovely audience the opportunity to share my love of MEMORY JUGS at my blog, as I am announcing that I am teaching a special Memory Jug making workshop in Boulder next February 16-17, 2013.
