i turn to the sky
a thousand bells are ringing
harbingers of light
"Since the winter solstice lasts only a moment in time,
other terms are often used for the day on which it occurs,
such as "midwinter", "the longest night",
"the shortest day" or "the first day of winter".
The seasonal significance of the winter solstice
is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights
and shortening of days."
within this cultural tapestry of richly diverse traditions
celebrating winter solstice
one thing remains
in the heart center for us all
honoring the light.
this year may we seek the light within each other
and walk all our days in peace.

The returning of the light is my favorite moniker...it carries with it the miracles of expansion! Now, in the cold of winter, when our nation has been rocked with grief and mourning...now is the time for this change to cleanse us and give us hope for our future. Let us, indeed, honor the light in each other, and nurture our connections to each other and the world.

Wonderful words Rebecca - and it is so comforting thinking as of now the light will return bit by bit, every day a little longer... stay warm my friend!

How happy I am to be here honoring one of my favorite of all days, this seed of light returning... may this day indeed ring a thousand bells of light in our hearts... I love the snow on your the spent flowers they remind of my cotton, bursting to be picked and spun into something else... XOXOXOXOXO

Everytime you hear bells, angel receives its wings. Lots of small angels have been received into the light this week.
