right now, this very moment, she appears,
in a soft white cloud floating in a pure vault sky,
across blue lakes,
scorched on a burnt tortilla, a water stain beneath some distant bridge,
inside the open heart of a ripe papaya, the blue green
sheath of humble agave, in a fast taxi tossing roses from an open window.
i don't know what it is about her,
but i can never get enough
of her forever open
arms
her eternal
motherlove.
calling all virgins...
enchanting, traditional, contemporary,
exotic, edgy, campy, irreverent, irresistible,
unusual, joyful, rapturous, lovely,
glorious, ordinary, astounding,
simply
bring her on!
thank you for being here
welcoming each new day one mary at a time.

I, for one, am glad you have this obsession with Mary. It always gladdens my heart to see the diverse images of her.

This is awesome. Love your mother Mary and all of the other examples of finding the sacred in the ordinary.

I not only love seeing the different images of our Blessed Mother, but my heart is gladdened by your descriptive words!
On my blog, I usually have little traffic when I offer photos of my parish church and the surrounding grounds. So I am thrilled to find an audience that you've introduced to me who appreciates the beauty of art in churches.

I find Mary one of the most amazing characters in the Christian Bible. She is strong, willful, and ahead of her time.

I can't seem to get enough of her either...so many thanks to you for giving us the opportunity to bask in these days of sweet indulgence!

This is totally beautiful. Yes, isnt it odd how she"appears" just anywhere and at random? Here, she appeared a couple of years ago on a window glass in huge rainbow colors on a two story building. They said it was from the sprinklers, but...ahem...the sprinklers dont reach two stories high. People came from miles away to view this image. It is gone now. I wonder what her message was.

In fact, it has such a nice ring to it--"Mary of the Scorched Tortilla"--that I think a song is order!
