today i loosened the long dark stitches of memory
from the necklaces of october.
once fresh, their ochre petals symbolizing rays of the sun
the origin of all living things.
gathered with autumn
flor de muertos
find their way in bright armfuls
to adorn pathways,
angels, madonnas, saints,
crosses, fountains, graves, altars
reminding us of the passion and fortitude
of the sun
and that those gone from this earth
have not lost their fiery place
in our hearts.
tomorrow i will open the warm earth
to reawaken the memory seeds
so in october i can gather their
bright endearing rays
and honor life.
care to join me?
I love the shades of orange in these photos. I have been obsessed with orange lately... I wonder if it has a meaning. I think your words go perfect with the photos, that earthy, warm feeling of Mother Earth.

Love those flowers for all their aspects - scent, sights, size, symbolism. Enjoy the sowing, Beautiful One.
