oh mexico....
how you embrace all the layers of living with such perfect passion.
i can do nothing more than lift the holy petticoats
of life in a fiery tango of verve and communion.
i cannot stop...
my beating heart, my fervent desire to merge into your red pulse of
viva la vida!!!
with such startling beauty,
all the robbed places of my gossamer stature
knit together in some miracle of strength
and i take to the dance floor of life
shaking off the dust of loss
with the desire of one
who may never pass
this way again.
my mexico,
my heart's song.
lift the veil of ordinary,
taking day after day and stringing them together
silver bright
and singing out,
to find their rightful place
beside all the
charms of unfettered life?
this is what i am drawn to...
seeker that i am.
to the heart of each moment,
the sacred, hidden somewhere in the ordinary.
the eternal conviction that we are all inextricably bound to each other.
the belief that divinity resides in each of us,
and the honest desire to coax it out of each fleeting moment.
to open the ancient doors of mystery
and return.
head over heels in LOVE....
to the interior, indigenous and richly embroidered landscape of life.
to gather a new
intimate group of "souls"
and share an appreciation for diverse cultures, folkart,
traditional celebrations, charm and verve!
come away with me!!

Rebecca,
This is stunning. Anyone reading this would be empassioned for Mexico as you are. It is a beautiful and deeply moving post, and it shows how this country is emblazoned on your heart. Mexico offers a freedom of Spirit and Soul to each person open to its sacred mysteries. Lovely.
I hope that I can join you some time soon.
xoxoxo,
Noelle

Such a beautiful and inspiring post, Rebecca. I clicked on the link to San Miguel, but didn't have any specifics about the actual trip. Will you be posting more later? Thanks for visiting tonight, by the way. I've been kind of underground with time, but you inspired me to go to Meri's Musings, and I hope to participate here tomorrow.

I went with Rebecca last year for Day of the Dead and it was an incomparable experience. Totally magical!
