round and round turn the prayer wheels,
bathing layer after layer of honey scented amber
coating pure white wicks in a centuries-old dance
we stood watching the red wheels turn so rhythmically
air warm with the fragrance of flowers
bees admiring the work of industrious summers
like bright red ferris wheels so perfectly joyful
turning always turning to be baptized by knowing hands
each circular journey adding one more layer to the lengthening fingers
their darma, simply to accept. to receive. to surrender.
the humming of the slow turning wheels...
careful knowing hands bathing their dreams,
to wait shoulder to shoulder
until the day they are chosen
their light to blaze on the altar of our prayers,
their amber hearts to anoint us with the song of flowers

Beautiful memory, rebecca. The candles, the prayer wheel, the air redolent with their perfume, all of it like a prayer connected to the natural world. thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the reminder.
Love to you always,

This made me cry. I am not sure why. I suppose the promise of all that sweet-scented light.

I've always liked this photo, Rebecca. I can smell the fragrance of the candles in my imagination and envision prayers ascending to the throne of grace like sweet perfume.
A SPLASH OF RED
A splash of red or a dash of blue—
Which is the color that’s just for you?
A hint of blue or a tint of red—
Which of these colors goes to your head?
Of all the colors under the sun,
Red is simply my favorite one!
