we love this time of year.
it speaks to us with a thrill that explodes in each singular cell.
we swoon over market baskets filled with honey coloured candles,
arms full of marigolds,
copal and mescal.
side by side on the dark hillside of a panteon
swimming in a sea of flickering candles
we have shared todos santos.
we have witnessed the traditions,
passed the mescal,
watched in wonder, wrapped in robozos,
completely swept away in nights like no other.
who better to meet on the zocalo of prescott, than mi comadre dawn elliott?
baskets full of treasures
and many journeys through mexico together tucked under our arms
as the golden light of our indian summer
whispers now,
allowing
Fall
softly
in.
it stirred our hearts,
all these miles from mexico and years of memories shared,
to create an altar here in our own home town.
to welcome each one of you to our dia de los muertos annual art exhibit.
