"...The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers
and these flowers are every little sacrifice,
every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love."
saint theresa
i have been pondering small acts of kindness.
just the look of love
offered in a necessary moment can be the measure
that tips the scale.
human kindness spilling out
with a willingness
to fill a need
is a bird singing on the clutched hands of prayer.

i have a dear friend who always seems to be searching for compassion's flowers
to flourish in the house of belonging.
these are the words i found opening my heart at
noelle's
reminding me of the light of small miracles.
journeying god,
pitch your tent with mine
so that i may not become deterred
by hardship, strangeness, doubt.
show me the movement i must make
toward a wealth not dependent on possessions,
toward a wisdom not based on books,
toward a strength not bolstered by might,
toward a god not confined to heaven.
help me to find myself as i walk in others shoes.
prayer song from ghana

oh small and achievable candles.. if we ignite
each others compassion,
stand side by side for the love of all,
hearts will be lifted, life will be nurtured,
hands will rest in the shelter of each other.
i hope you will visit noelle at
and
as she so clearly paves a way to nurture small achievable flowers
in the house of belonging.
today i am dedicating my postcards from paradise
"toward a god not confined to heaven".
tell me my friends, where did paradise take you?
