i would fly fly fly
away on a wing, hot impulse, and impossibly red shoes.
i would break free
from
this chapter of my life.
arrive
in a ancient black silk kimono that always waits
for my most mysterious sojourns.
with all my aging hair
loose, long, wild.
so each singular thread
could memorize the electric air
of a story teller, living on the edge,
who has captured my heart.
"So here she is,
about to jump into the pool.
She has her goggles, flippers, water wings, bathing cap
and by the looks of those shoulders,
she knows how to swim.
And then there are the sharks,
of which she is completely unaware.
No life guard to save her,
she's on her own and thinking she is safe because she is prepared."
