Rebecca,
Catrina travels light and well in all cultures and environments. I love her! I love that line, "stumbling on ecstasy", so lovely. I loved the paperlicious day too! Looking forward to being better prepared for the next one. At least I got my haiku out on time and stayed up late to do it!
xoxoxo,
Noelle

I'm loving the theme you have going for El Día de Los Muertos and the elegant skeletal chicas y chicos. Your haiku is lovely and festive as well! ¡Felicitaciones, amiguita!

Hiya Rebecca,
My post seems so tame compared to your firy images and haiku.
Your scary lady reminds me somebody I saw strolling in the park yesterday. Even more if you were to put a lit cigarette in catrina's bony hand :-)
Thanks for hosting.

I love susanna's creation. Actually, I love so many creations by so many talented and creative artists that seem to flow through here with regularity. I must admit, I have fallen in love with a skeleton.
Peace.

I was writing Haiku on Friday along with the rest of you. We were introduced to a different sort of Haiku. Since Japanese does not translate so well to English there are some that do not prescribe to the strict 5-7-5 but to 3 simple lines...of being inside nature rather than commenting on it. I'll share one that I wrote
Birds and Crickets sing
constant chatter
yet silence and stillness settle
